Mid last month, I made a whirlwind trip to Morocco. It was very last minute and very rushed, which was both exciting and nerve wracking at the same time. But it was not, for one minute, a regret! Morocco is beautiful, sublime and scintillating to all the senses. I could go on and on about what an amazing country it is but you can read about that elsewhere. For today, I share with you the decor of a gorgeous hotel in Chefchaouen called Dar Echchaouen. Chefchaouen was my favorite city, the Blue City, and this hotel was the perfect charming resting spot to lure me in.
Bold colours, eclectic patterns, beautiful detailing and an adventurous spirit when it comes to mixing and matching are some of the descriptions I would use for Moroccan decor. There is absolutely no reservation when it comes to styling and decor and it seems to be all about what’s pleasing to the eye, can take your breath away (per room) and yet also what can make you feel completely at home. It’s a great balance and wonderful to soak in 🙂
Dar Echchaouen was a charming hotel and really a reflection of the historic beauty of Morocco. With so much style and colour, it showed Moroccan decor as it is – exotic and timeless. Hopefully, this styling theme has appealed to you as much as it did me. But hey, if you’re not one to go at it in abundance, there is always the avenue of being selective and choosing specific pieces, pieced that will add that touch to your existing space.
See you next time 😉
